Special attention is to be directed to the production of the log shafts, which can be self-supporting up to 11 m. High quality, very thick-walled seamless steel pipes are used as raw material.
At the shaft ends the flanges are shrinked on and welded. The shaft centering is made on a 10m centre lathe.

Additional fins are welded between the  log fastenings for increasing the rigidity of the shafts.
Before and after welding, the pipes will be heat treated in a furnace for thermal stress relief.
