Successfull commisionning of Double Shaft Mixers

KISA is proud to announce the successful commissioning of three double shaft mixers, each with a throughput capacity of 600 tons per hour, as part of a large-scale tunnel construction project in London, led by ROWA Tunnelling Logistics AG.

Optimized Mixing for Demanding Applications

Our KISA double shaft mixers are engineered for demanding applications where reliable and consistent material processing is essential. In tunnel construction, managing wet, clay-rich excavated soil presents a major logistical challenge. This is where our technology comes into play.

By mixing excavated soil with a binding agent, such as lime or cement, the material’s consistency is significantly improved—transforming even watery soil into a stable, conveyable substance. This not only simplifies transport and storage but also contributes to a more efficient and sustainable construction process.

How It Works

Each mixer contains two counter-rotating shafts equipped with spirally arranged paddles. These paddles mix and convey the material simultaneously, ensuring a homogeneous blend. The result is a well-stabilized material that meets the requirements of modern tunneling operations.

Key Benefits at a Glance:

High mixing efficiency with uniform binder distribution

Significantly improved transportability of wet and sticky materials

Ideal for infrastructure and tunneling projects, especially in urban areas

Field-Proven Performance

In the London project, our mixers demonstrated their robust performance and reliability in challenging conditions. Below is a comparison of the material before and after mixing, showing the transformation into a uniform, manageable substance.
